“A library is a house of hope. It’s a place where we all, whatever our situation, can feed our ideas and develop our dreams.”
– Doug Wilhelm
Dear Library Community:
As this year closes and we reflect on the legacy of Lawrence Memorial Library, we are reminded of the countless stories, ideas, and dreams that have flourished within our walls. For over 120 years, our library has been an emblem of knowledge and inspiration, adapting to the evolving needs of our community while remaining a steadfast hub for learning and connection.
Over the years, we've seen many changes: new technologies, an expanding range of programs, and a wealth of resources designed to engage and empower our community. Our commitment to fostering knowledge, understanding, and collaboration is reflected in 15,500 visits to the library last year as well as over 34,000 items borrowed from our physical and digital collections.
This is made possible through the hard work of our staff, each of whom plays a vital role in fulfilling our mission. We are especially grateful for Megan Thomas, whose dedication and commitment have left a lasting impact on our community, and we deeply appreciate the devotion of our staff, ensuring that LML remains a welcoming, dynamic resource for all.
As we look ahead, we are excited by the significant facility updates that are on the horizon. These enhancements will ensure that LML remains a vibrant space for exploration and growth, equipped to meet the needs of future generations. We envision a library that not only honors our past but also embraces the future—one where every community member feels inspired to learn.
To achieve this vision, we need your support. Your contributions enable us to continue offering valuable services that enrich and empower individuals. Every gift, no matter the size, helps ensure that Lawrence Memorial Library remains a thriving resource for years to come.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and for believing in the power of knowledge and community. Together, we can keep the spirit of LML alive and vibrant for years to come.
Warmly,
Katie Male-Riordan, Library Director
